I’ve been doing Usability analysis and design since 2002. A career transition led to responsibility for the design and implementation of a custom on-line document management system. It was here that I discovered a hidden talent for usability analysis and design. Subsequent projects have included designing an in-house on-line order processing system for office supplies, an on-line registration portal for a major bank, website redesign for national restaurant chain, a complex interface for a major network device supplier and most recently the prototype design for a Government of Canada sponsored information and registration portal. Along the way I have also done usability studies for a number of small businesses.
In late 2007 I formalized my practical knowledge by enrolling in the Human Factors International Certified Usability Analyst program and qualified for certification in early 2008.
Recently I have undertaken to expand my usability knowledge to include Search Engine Optimization (SEO) as the two disciplines continue to merge into an overarching User Experience amalgamation.
I’m looking for that next great opportunity to assist clients in creating an exception experience for their consumer or internal users.
